Thanks for Making the 2009 National Walk for Epilepsy a Success!
Each year more and more people gather in D.C. to bring awareness to the third most common neurological disorder in the United States—epilepsy. Over the past two years, the event has raised more than $2 million dollars and engaged more than 13,000 walkers. This year's event helped increase those numbers significantly. Undaunted by spring showers, muddy walk conditions and cool temperatures, walkers gathered from all over the country, joined by television stars and sports celebrities on the Mall to show unmitigated support for the third annual National Walk for Epilepsy. » Check out more of the 2009 Walk Coverage

There's Still Time to Show Your Support for the Third Annual National Walk!
Registration is now closed for this year's Walk, but we are still accepting donations.
This year's Walk was a success despite current economical hardships and unfavorable weather. We want to thank all of our walkers for their unflagging support this year! However, we can still do more to raise money to create essential programs for people with epilepsy and aid in the search for a cure.
With your help, the National Walk for Epilepsy will continue to successfully raise awareness about epilepsy each year. Please consider making another donation for this excellent cause and make a difference in the lives of people with epilepsy, their loved ones and caregivers.

Check out Frank Piercy's story:
This was my second year to take part in this walk. Sept 12 2007 My daughter Kim experienced her first seizure, later that day she experienced her second and was sent [to] Connecticut Childrens Medical Center where she was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. Being 15 she started googling this and saw the website for the walk and told her mother we are going to this. Kim passed away in her sleep just over a week later.
Kim's Crabapples is our team name, and we walk with her spirit, so just not another moment is lost, but so another lifetime of moments is not lost. We had a great time this year, caught up for a few steps with friends from CT and also walk[ed] for a bit with the Epilepsy Foundation of CT team. Our highlight was also actually meeting and getting Gregs autograph. That made my daughter Emily so jealous that she didnt get to go to DC with us this year. Next year bigger better, and hopefully sunshine LOL
